Hidden in the middle of CITA Shopping Center, whose facade reminds us more of a ghost train, is a small sweet surprise: Café Wien. It's located in the upper area of the shopping center, all the way at the back, and is easy to miss. From the outside it looks unassuming, but inside and on the terrace it's cozy and welcoming. This isn't about fancy decor, but about tradition, coffee, and cake.

For us, Café Wien is an essential part of every visit to the island. The cakes are very tasty, freshly baked, and change depending on the day, as the selection depends on what's just come out of the oven. They serve good coffee to go with it. The café is gay-friendly and popular with the queer community, but equally a place for anyone looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of Playa del Inglés.
