Las Terrazas is a large shopping centre in Telde, right on the GC-1 near Jinamar. The outlet area is the main reason to come here, with shops like Nike, adidas and Lacoste.
Shopping on the GC-1
Las Terrazas is not in the south but in the east of the island, in Telde, right on the GC-1 motorway (Jinamar exit). You can get there quickly from Las Palmas, from the south of the island it takes a bit longer. It's practical if you're heading towards the airport from the north anyway, as the exit is basically on your way.
The center is both a shopping and leisure center, but the main reason to visit is the outlets - including Nike, adidas, Puma and Lacoste.
The Shops
The sports brands are particularly well-known: Nike has a Factory Store in the center, adidas is also represented, plus there's a Lacoste Outlet with polos, shoes, bags and accessories.
Opening Hours
The shops in the shopping center are generally open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm. The restaurants, however, are also open on Sundays, but may have different opening hours. Here we recommend checking Google Maps, for example.

If the weather doesn't cooperate and ruins your planned beach day, then a shopping trip to Las Terrazas is an alternative. It's quieter during the week than on weekends.

Poema del Mar Aquarium
Das Poema del Mar ist ein modernes Großaquarium direkt am Hafen von Las Palmas. Es zeigt auf rund 12.500 m² Meereswelten aus aller Welt, von tropischen Riffen bis zur Tiefsee. Ein Highlight ist das riesige Panoramafenster, hinter dem Haie, Rochen und Schwärme zu sehen sind. Der Besuch ist für Familien ebenso lohnend wie bei Regenwetter.

Der "Grand Canyon von Gran Canaria": kurzer Abstecher in eine Schlucht aus farbigem Vulkangestein. Rote und gelbliche Felswände, ein Tunnel als Eingang und ein Fotomotiv, das an den Antelope Canyon erinnert. Der Barranco de Las Vacas ist klein, aber sehenswert.
